Brighten up Valentine’s Day with a beautiful bouquet of flowers

Valentine’s Day is little over a month away and that means the search is on to find that special gift to give to that special somebody on February 14.

Some people will give a loved one a nice box of chocolates, some will organise a surprise meal out at a romantic restaurant, some will rustle up a scrumptious meal at home, some couples will head off for a weekend away and some will splash out on jewellery.

When it comes to shopping for the perfect Valentine’s gifts for her, though, you cannot go wrong with a beautiful bunch of flowers. Women of all ages will appreciate a floral present on the most romantic day of the year.

There are no more thoughtful gifts for her than flowers because you can convey many different messages with flowers depending on what varieties you select and how many you send. The most obvious and popular flowers to send on Valentine’s Day, of course, arered roses that are understated and synonymous with showing love and affection to the person that matters most to you.

Send one red rose to signify love, a dozen to show gratitude for whatever reason, 25 by way of congratulations and a total of 50 red roses if you want to declare your unconditional love for somebody. People often also use a single rose if they intend to ask somebody to marry them on Valentine’s Day, so that’s something to bear in mind if you’re planning to get down on one knee on February 14.

If you fancy breaking from tradition and sending different flowers on Valentine’s Day to roses then consider making up a bespoke bouquet made up of varieties such as alstroemerias, daffodils, germinis, gypsophila, carnations, chrysanthemums, lilies and tulips. In terms of what different colours of tulips symbolise, white is for forgiveness, red is for love, pink shows a caring side and yellow means friendship.

White lilies symbolise peace and purity and pink carnations are often giving as a sign of gratitude, especially on Mother’s Day, which is on March 18.

That should have given you plenty of floral inspiration to ensure you make Valentine’s Day extra special for your significant other!
